south central schutzhund training

Welcome to the South Central Region
Schutzhund Training Site

South Central Region E-Group

Due to the motion by Bill Plumb, seconded by Al Govednik, to realign the Mid-Central, Northwestern, and South Central regions as follows: The Rocky Mountain/Great Plains Region will be eliminated and the area will be reassigned. Colorado will become part of the Mid-Central Region, Utah will become part of the Northwestern Region, and New Mexico and West Texas will become part of the South Central Region.

The South Central Region welcomes new members in our area.

Our region is part of The United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USA). We have several full member clubs through-out Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and New Mexico. You can see a list of the clubs by clicking on the Schutzhund Training Clubs.

Our members are dedicated to preserving the working aspects of their chosen breed, by participating in Schutzhund (SchH) / Vielseitigkeits Pruefungfuer Gebrauchshunde (VPG) and Breed Surveys.

Our sport is recognized around the world as the principal tool in breeding correct dogs for many different arenas, such as police dogs, drug dogs, bomb dogs, search and rescue dogs, therapy dogs, guide dogs, and hearing dogs as well as many other areas. Above all, these dogs are our friends, family and protectors. Click here to learn more about SchH/VPG.

Feel free to visit this site and if interested in this fascinating sport you can contact the Regional Secretary Betty Thomas.

For the newcomers, visit our clubs page to find the clubs closest to you and visit all the clubs in your area to find the one that suits you best.

Our events page lists trials in the region, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, as well as regional trials through out the Untied States. Attend as many trials in your area as you can to support your region and to lean more about the sport and training.

Visit our regional dog pages for information on studs in the region or to purchase a puppy or grown dog. We list all breeds through out the region with various paid listings.

Alternate breed is a term used to decribe dogs other than the German Shepherd breed. These dogs include but are not limited to Belgian Malinois, Dobermann, Giant Schnauzers, Rottwieler and several Bull dog breeds.
